All games start at 7:00 PM with a 15 minute grace period for late arrivals.
No game may go beyond 9:00 PM except to finish an inning. The umpire’s decision is final when calling a game for darkness.
The maximum number of innings is 7.
The defensive team shall consist of a maximum of 9 players on the field. If a team does not have 9 players they should make every effort to borrow from the other team. Note that teams must have 9 players when playing in the Provincial Championships.
Teams are required to present a line-up card to the umpire at the plate conference. All eligible players will appear on the batting order (whether they are in the field defensively or not). Ie. If 15 players show up for a game, all 15 go on the batting order and bat in turn. If a player shows up late to the game, teams should notify the umpire and opposing scorekeeper at that time and they will be added to the end of the batting order.
There are unlimited defensive substitutions, Ie. defensive players can rotate into the game at any time. However, the batting order cannot be changed.
An offensive inning shall have a maximum of 6 runs per inning or 3 outs, whichever comes first. In a 7 inning controlled game if one team is up by 13 runs after 4.5 or 5 innings or up by 7 runs after 5.5 or 6 innings, the ‘Run Ahead Rule’ is in effect.
Players are required to wear a batting helmet, complete with an approved mask when batting and/or running.
In the event a player is injured during the game and is unable to take their turn at bat, the player will be removed from the batting order and out for the balance of the game, unless the coach announces that the player will be able to continue to play prior to the team’s next at bat.
